We have five lovely, privately owned and well trained, forward going horses, who enjoy the beautiful countryside with hacking and trail riding as much as their riders! We ride over the National Trust Holnicote Estate, 12000 acres of unspoilt Exmoor.

We are open for riding throughout the year for riders with some horse riding experience, we do ask that our riders can control a horse at walk, trot and canter.

If you like a 'good ride', you will love riding with us! Here we canter across moorland tracks and along wide woodland rides, riding straight out from the stables onto incredible riding country - the woods were planted for riding trails some 150 years ago! Perfect for short break holiday trail riding on horse back.

You will have a ride tailored to your needs and ability, usually without other riders - no long line of horses and ponies and mixed abilities. Why not bring a small group of friends for some of the best riding in your life and stay in our B&B farmhouse.

For local pony trekking for children and families we recommend Burrowhayes Farm, a short walk from us.

Usually we cover between 12-15 miles on the half day ride.

Just wanted to send a quick email to say thank you for a wonderful weekend, we all really enjoyed it. Ride with us all year round at Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre for some of the best riding on Exmoor, over moors, woodlands, combes and rivers. We believe this wonderful Exmoor landscape offers some of the best trail riding in the world, with ever changing scenery through the seasons, on quality riding horses to suit all riders. Ours are not trekking horses, and have real personalities!

Our horses are fed on natural foods, with no artificial additives - they are wormed regularly with Vermex herbal wormer; and as far as possible are treated with herbal remedies in the event of any ill health or injury.
Our horses are trained through natural horsemanship methods, and are comfortable riding with modern bitless bridles. We use cross-under bridles for optimum control by gentle pressure on the side of the face and poll. A gentle hand is essential.

Our Rides We will take you out on one of our rides to give you memories of a lifetime - in a half day ride we will cover as much as 12 - 15 miles, with amazing views, wonderful canters, and beautiful woodland scenery. You may see red deer, peregrine falcons, buzzards, Exmoor ponies, and much more. Maximum 4 people per ride. Our Horses We have five top quality horses, who are mature and well trained - they will teach you greater riding skills, in safety and security, whilst also offering some for the best riding in the UK Bed and Breakfast Enjoy a short break in our delightful National Trust farmhouse dating back to 1456 - comfortable, homely and friendly, ....... Owl and bird of prey experiences If you do not want to ride every day of your short break, why not fly some birds or simply enjoy the facilities of the Centre. Take a look at our activities with the birds or have a unique experience with the owls while you are staying with us.
